Introduction

Our client, a global engineering and construction company is currently seeking to appoint two Storemen to join a large-scale solar PV and battery energy storage (BESS) project in Postmasburg, Northern Cape. This is a project-based contract until November 2027.

Duties & Responsibilities

Receive, inspect and verify incoming materials, equipment, tools and spares.
Ensure correct binning, labelling and storage of materials.
Issue materials and equipment in accordance with project procedures.
Maintain accurate stock records and inventory levels.
Conduct stock counts, cycle counts and reconciliations.
Monitor stock movements and report discrepancies, shortages or damaged items.
Maintain accurate receiving and issuing documentation.
Assist with the control of tools, PPE, consumables, equipment and spares.
Maintain good housekeeping and organisation within the stores area.
Operate material-handling equipment when required.
Comply with all project HSE requirements and procedures.
Support the Stores Supervisor with general stores and materials-management activities.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Grade 12 / Matric.
Minimum 2+ years of experience working as a Storeman, Stores Clerk, Warehouse Assistant or similar.
Experience working on large construction, mining, power, renewable energy or EPC projects.
Experience with inventory control, receiving, issuing and stocktaking.
SAP or other ERP system experience - preferred.
Forklift / material-handling equipment certification – preferred.
Good computer literacy (Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook).
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
Good understanding of workplace health and safety requirements (OHSA).
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced project environment.
Valid driver’s license and own vehicle.
